I could never imagine a world without you!

Byakuya Kuchiki- aka. sexy man

“I could never imagine a world with you!” is only one of the many great (and sometimes cliche…case and point) lines in Shonen Jump’s “Bleach: Memories of Nobody” movie.

My mother and my sisters and I went to go see it today. I was kind of scared cause, even though I have only watched like…7 episodes of the show, I know enough about it to know that there’s plenty enough profanity in the movie and that kinda thing. My sister (who has seen a whole 22 episodes of it xD) said she hoped my mom wouldn’t freak out on us and so I started to worry. Bleach didn’t seem (at first) to be something my mom would like.

However, I didn’t know how wrong I would be. Okay, so the movie starts with this big creepy monster thing as usual. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the music wasn’t your typical ‘battle music’ and the style and scenery was just the kind of thing to make you go, “wow, that’s beautiful” in the middle of a fight. xD I was happy because the type of music and the scenery surrounding an anime is something that is really important to not only me but also to my mom. We’re both people that are very into the aesthetics of things.

I was a little disappointed by the lack of fan-unity at this limited release. Death note was far more active and had a lot more crazy people that made you feel like you weren’t the only one gushing about the series. I even missed the yaoi fangirl squad; at least they made things lively. =/

At the end though, there were some people that got a little bit more crazy and during the movie, a turning point (ie. a point that woke people up and made them feel a little more fangirl/boy-ish was when this one dude with a little girl on his shoulder appeared in the fight. I don’t know his name or anything about him (I’ll watch some of the anime later, I swear xD) but everyone was freaking out and laughing and being rowdy when he appeared. All four of us were confused as to why, although the little girl WAS rather cute and out of place. I’m guessing she’s not just any little girl.

At the end of the movie, my mom actually gushed about it a little. She rather enjoyed it and she told my sisters and I that she didn’t even mind the swearing but that it was a bit unnecessary. I think after I explained that they really were keeping to the script and just kept what was originally in there in place, she felt a little more at ease about it (just knowing that it wasn’t put there to please American fans). Even still, she didn’t care much in the first place so I was happy. Maybe that means if they put a second one out then she’ll be willing to take us to that. I heard her talking to my dad earlier about it and, maybe I’m wrong, but he made it sound like he had wanted to go too or something. o.O I don’t really know. I could be hearing wrong.

Either way, today was a great day. We stopped by McDonalds on the way home just so my mom could buy us all a big thing of sweet tea. =) We’re southern at heart, here at home. Sweet tea is a must-have on occasion at our house and not many places up north carry it. I just thought it was funny she drove us through the drive-thru just to get it. The guy was probably confused. xD

Hah, random story. Last time when Lauren, my sisters, and I went to the Death Note movie (at the same mall, Carousel Center) we went to Hot Topic. My sister bought this little keyholder thingy and the guy at the counter (your typical dread-locked, majorly pierced dude with an awesome and sweet personality) asked her if she wanted to donate a dollar to some children’s charity. She kindly said no and he started messing with her and trying (jokingly) to convince her to donate a dollar. It was funny, we went in there today and the same guy was there. We were so excited. My sister walked into the store with the FULL intention of buying something just so when the guys asks, “Would you like to donate a dollar to such-and-such charity?” she could say, “Did youuu ever donate a dollar?”. xD Knowing her, she would TOTALLY do it. I fricken love my sister. Hah.

Oh, the .gif at the top of this page is of Byakuya Kuchiki. It didn’t say much about him in the movie but my sister was pretty sure he was the brother of one of the main characters, Rukia. I could see it, being as how he does some saving of her in the movie. =P Anyway, I did some research and found out he is indeed her brother but adoptive brother. He was originally the husband of her older sister. Watch the show to find out what happened.

He’s there though because my mommy and I both like him. xD I love that my mom and I have similar tastes in fictional characters. My mom’s words were, ” I liked him. He was sexy.”
